He defends himself with the scabbard of the Tessaiga. But when the scabbard looks as if it is about to break, the scabbard calls its sword. Inuyasha shoves the Tessaiga into Hiten and wins.

Inuyasha and the gang listen to the story of Miroku's enemy, the demon Naraku. They learn that Kikyo's enemy is also Naraku.

They head to Kotatsu's house, but Miroku sucks up an ogre which appears from a painting and is incapacitated by its incredibly evil energy. Kotatsu doesn't know when to give up. Inuyasha tries to defeat the ink without killing Kotatsu, but Kotatsu's evil thoughts get him devoured by the ink.
