"Gravity" follows the sometimes comic, sometimes tragic exploits of a support group from an eccentric out-patient program of suicide survivors. Unlikely relationships are forged when the colorful cast faces the challenges and opportunities that come along with a second shot at life.
Josh Clayton lands a job on Tresco, a privately owned island and popular destination for royals and celebrities. After a long and busy tourist season, the son of the island's owner, Tristan Dorrien-Smith, throws a wild party. Josh's friends and colleagues begin to panic after Josh fails to turn up for work. They eventually call the police, then his family -- and begin a search for him across the island.
The search for Josh continues. During that time, police conduct investigations on the island, predominantly through the use of take-home questionnaires. The family quickly become antagonistic towards the police and their refusal to investigate Josh's disappearance as a crime. The family learns of another worker on the island who was acting strangely during the night of the party. Ten days after his disappearance, Josh's body is found washed up on the rocks of a neighboring island. All suspicions from the family come to the fore when the aforementioned worker tells the official inquest that he was the last person to see Josh. He claims Josh left the party with the intention of suicide. The claims are so shocking, the inquest is adjourned.
While the family hopes the discovery of Josh's body will yield answers, the police make a decision to pursue a non-forensic post-mortem. The decision is overturned, but not before the family loses 14 precious days. The estate worker's wild claims force the police to finally do forensics on the islands, two years after Josh's death. Then, further questionable police decisions force Tracey to take the investigation into her own hands.
