After a health scare derails his career, superstar soccer player Roberto Casas heads back to his long-forgotten Mexican hometown of Playa Ángel to escape his debts. Broke and unable to return to Spain, Roberto soon finds himself faced with a choice: coach the ragtag local female team, Las Bravas, into the Premier League -- or face jail time.

Determined to figure out if one of the players is his daughter, Roberto turns training into a drunken interrogation session. Then, when a “miracle” shows itself, Humberto and Santi see an opportunity to redeem Roberto’s reputation -- until an interview with a local celebrity threatens to derail their publicity stunt. Meanwhile, Las Bravas ready for an important match against their better equipped rivals.

While awaiting the results of his paternity test, Roberto goes toe-to-toe with Tania’s strong-willed mother, Flor. Then, hoping to bring more fans to matches, Santi, Renata and Humberto attempt to make a documentary about Las Bravas go viral.
