At a long-awaited brunch, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte discuss all the new changes in their lives, including a conspicuous absence from their circle. During a podcast taping, Carrie is thrown off-guard by a personal question from the show’s host, Che Diaz. On her first day of grad school, Miranda commits one faux pas after another in front of her Columbia University law professor, Dr. Nya Wallace, while Charlotte aims to impress Lisa Todd Wexley, a chic and accomplished fellow mom.
Miranda rushes to Carrie’s side after a late-night call for help and, later, veers into complicated territory in her attempt to stick up for Nya. Meanwhile, Charlotte tries without success to keep her emotions in check, and Anthony and Stanford vow to let go of petty arguments.
Upon learning of a surprising development concerning Big’s ex-wife, Natasha, Carrie goes down a precarious path for answers. Meanwhile, Charlotte worries about how to handle a revelation from her youngest daughter, and Miranda ponders whether her marriage is falling into a roommate situation.
Hoping to move forward, Carrie meets with self-made Manhattan real estate broker Seema Patel, but an offhanded comment threatens to derail their burgeoning friendship. Seizing an opportunity, Charlotte plans a last-minute gathering for LTW - and then quickly grows concerned over the guest list. Later, Miranda and Nya, who is in the throes of IVF, bond over the potential joys – and frank realities – of motherhood.
After Carrie discovers she needs “not old lady” hip surgery, the friends step in to help her recuperate. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Harry process some surprising news about their daughter from other moms at school. After Che shares their sometimes-comedic path to finding their true self, Miranda confronts some not-so-funny truths about her life.
After making a giant leap for her future self, Carrie accompanies Seema sari shopping for her family’s annual Diwali celebration. Questioning whether she wants to undergo another round of IVF, Nya vents to Miranda about a dreaded upcoming dinner with her friend “Fertile Myrtle.” Later, Anthony asks a favor of Carrie in Stanford’s absence, Miranda confesses to a predictably shocked Charlotte, and Carrie decides to fully embrace her past.
Months later, Carrie is asked by her publisher to inject a little hope into her new book by dipping a toe in the dating pool – and learns that Seema has already created her an online dating profile. After getting radio silence from Che, Miranda tries to recreate their moment together with Steve. Meanwhile, Charlotte bristles when Harry imposes himself, and his rules, on her sacred space… tennis.
Miranda is spurred toward a life-altering decision after Che learns she hasn’t been as open as they thought. After another sleepless night, Carrie navigates how to handle her new, mysterious 20-something neighbor. Charlotte’s efforts to be more open with her kids about sex are derailed when she finds a questionable photo on Lily’s phone.
