At a baseball game, Tom's new shirt lands him in trouble with an opposing fan, but their attempt to find common ground becomes even more controversial than the teams' notorious rivalry. The bus driver helps Tom do damage control for his embarrassing reaction to a small classroom fire.

After helping the principal land a date with his mom, Tom and Nelson discover the magic (and madness) of blackmail. Adopting an elderly gerbil helps Tom realize that having a pet may not be all it's cracked up to be.

After Tom and Nelson pull one over on their aloof substitute teacher, Dakota dangerously ups the ante on their plans to cut class. Encouraged to stretch the truth on his lackluster campaign for class treasurer, Tom gets caught in his own web of lies.

After taking his title of roastmaster a little too seriously, Tom is recruited by the principal -- who's now questioning his future in education -- to help check items off his questionable bucket list. When Tom attempts to make the most of his only line in the school play, he's forced into a weeklong acting boot camp hosted by the playwright.

After producing an uncharacteristically brilliant drawing, Tom is tasked with saving the school's soon-to-be-defunded art program. While parents unsuccessfully conspire against a problematic soccer mom, Tom attempts to score his first goal of the season.

When the neighbors begin paying him in baked goods, Tom is convinced his afterschool job couldn't get any worse -- until a landscaper and his son move in. Surprised by his invite to the school nurse's wedding, Tom is tasked with more responsibility than he can handle.
