Selva Pérez Salerno, a popular relationship counselor known as the “Love Guru” on a successful TV show, finds her professional career on shaky ground after one of her therapy sessions goes offcourse. Still reeling from the event, a young couple reaches out to Selva with an unusual request.

Malena and Elías sit down for their first session with Selva, where they explain how their relationship first came to be and the reasoning as to why they can’t end it. Selva challenges them to show themselves for who they really are.

Selva confides in Luis her mission to help Elías and Malena end their relationship, and oversteps her professional boundaries by going to visit the couple at the showroom. There, Elías and Malena – acting on Selva’s treatment recommendation– decide to redecorate the place, which results in a controversial outcome.

Elías and Malena fail yet again to meet the weekly therapy goal Selva set for them. With her patience running thin, Selva decides to employ even more drastic measures. Selva, Elías and Malena go out for drinks at a bar, where each finds their beliefs put to the test.

Unexpected news forces Selva to return to her hometown and abandon her patients for the time being. There, she struggles to deal with her parents, relatives, her small-time fame and the rumors and prejudices that come from a place that she loves and hates with equal passion.

Selva returns to her job with renewed energy and lays out a new therapy directive for Elías and Malena that proves to be more revealing than she could have imagined. For the first time since meeting the couple, she feels that her efforts might be working.

Elías and Malena are reunited at an unexpected dinner, each with their new partners. Just as Selva’s plan appears to be finally headed for success, the mood turns sour and the whole evening goes off the rails.

Elías and Malena are able to accomplish the trip that Selva established in their therapy, but they’re visited by an unexpected person that pushes their relationship to a point of no return.

Selva relishes in the success of her therapy and prepares to publish a book on the experience. But the other side of the equation is a different story – Elías’ new reality leaves him a broken man while Malena hits one roadblock after another in her effort to overcome the separation.

Heedless to the consequences, Selva comes full circle with her lie and opts to cut all ties at her book unveiling. Although everyone knows the whereabouts of the two lovers, nothing appears to be set in stone.
