Jeff Cooper's fulfilling career as the graphic designer for space start-up Mars.ly comes to an abrupt end when his bosses Darren and Brandon unceremoniously eliminate his role. Left to aimlessly wander the office while counting down the days until his girlfriend, Hannah, can join him on the Red Planet, Jeff begins to lose his grip on reality -- until a tragedy leads to a possible opening on the Dreamspiration team.

Worse for wear after a dangerous temper tantrum, Jeff lands an internship with the Dreamspiration team, working hand-in-hand with the department’s intense, mercenary executive assistant, Jaxton Olivier. As they take on the high-stakes game of pleasing their boss, Reagan, Jeff’s plans for her birthday party go awry, forcing him to make a last-ditch effort to save the day.

In the aftermath of Reagan’s ill-fated birthday, Jaxton readies himself for the sleep tank. Faced with condemning his new friend to the tank or dealing with the consequences of his actions, Jeff finds himself at a major crossroads. With everything that matters on the line, Jeff contends with losing his chance at full-time employment, his budding friendship with Jaxton, and even his relationship with Hannah back on Earth.

When Martin offers him a manual labor job assisting Mars.ly’s rat-catching handyman, Sluggo, Jeff starts to think that things are looking up. But his status quo is threatened by a fling with one of the company’s scientists, Crystal, and a run-in with some mysterious robots that leads deep into the colony’s underbelly.

Immersed in the heady Martian underground of The Buckies, Jeff gets recruited for a secret exploratory mission to the planet’s surface. But when Brandon approaches him with a dream job opportunity, he must choose between a dangerous rebel lifestyle and the comforts of Mars.ly corporate.

Jeff attempts to lead a double life, with one foot in The Buckies resistance movement and the other in Mar.sly corporate. But Jeff’s tenuous balance crumbles when the CEO’s son, Tee, appears on the scene, his romance with Crystal heats up and The Buckies decide to move their departure date up by months.

Pursued by Mars.ly security and a deranged vigilante turned chief investigator, the crippled Buckies scramble to avoid being caught. Meanwhile, Jeff slips further to the dark side, working overtime to hit the looming Marsiversary deadline and exploring the rarified air of Mars.ly’s glitterati with Tee.

As Marsiversary celebrations begin, Darren faces a vindictive Brandon’s wrath, while Trevor hunts Hubert and The Buckies. When Jeff completely disappears from The Buckies, a desperate Crystal turns to his old friend Jaxton to track him down, following a trail that leads to Tee and his crew.
