This year marks the 30th anniversary of the kidnapping and murder of the young Bay Area girl, Polly Klaas. The case captured the emotion of the nation and fueled a nation-wide effort to get tough on crime... resulting in the 'Three Strikes' law. That law sent thousands of people to jail... many sentence to life in prison for incredibly minor crimes. In recent years there's been a big push to reform that law... this as another tough on crime movement appears to be gathering steam. This documentary looks back at the Klaas case with archival footage... and looks to the broader impact on criminal justice efforts.
