Series premiere. When Basque separatist group ETA announces an end to more than forty years of violence, Bittori returns to her hometown in search of the full story behind her husband Txato's murder. But her arrival stokes neighborhood tensions and leaves Miren, Bittori's former best friend, particularly disturbed.

Realizing she has more in common with Joxe Mari than she thought, Arantxa goes behind her mother's back and reaches out to him with an urgent request. After receiving unexpected attention from a literary contest, Miren's son Gorka escapes Basque Country in pursuit of a different kind of life. Later, Miren discovers Arantxa's burgeoning friendship with Bittori.

The hunt for Joxe Mari intensifies when he and fellow Oria command members are placed on the Most Wanted Terrorist list. After fulfilling her final promise to Txato, Nerea makes a monumental decision about her future. While Bittori meets with another member of Miren's family in secret, her children have a private meeting of their own.

After secretly tailing the elusive command unit for weeks, the civil guard finally moves in on Oria. Loyalties are tested as Joxe Mari's family struggles to reconcile the doting son and brother they once knew with the man behind bars for horrific acts of terrorism. In present day, Arantxa and Nerea reconnect for the first time in years.

As a high profile local, Joxe Mari is forced to stay back while Oria moves in on their next (and final) hit. After countless letters and help from Arantxa, Bittori at last finds the answers she's been desperately waiting for, while Miren receives some much-needed peace of her own.
