Tanjiro Kamado comes home to discover his family slaughtered by demons with only one survivor, his little sister Nezuko, who soon begins to bare fangs and claws of her very own.

Tanjiro Kamado is living a modest but blissful life in the mountains. One day, when he returns from selling charcoal, he finds his family slaughtered in pools of blood. He rushes down the mountain with the sole survivor, his sister Nezuko, on his back.

On his search for a cure to revive Nezuko's humanity, Tanjiro encounters a man-eating demon hungry for human flesh, only to be saved by an unlikely ally. Who says having a demonic little sister doesn't have its perks?

At Giyu Tomioka's urging, Tanjiro heads for Mt. Sagiri with Nezuko who's been turned into a demon. During the night, Tanjiro catches the smell of blood from inside a temple. He enters, thinking that someone might be hurt, only to come upon a demon.

Tanjiro trains rigorously on the mountainside with seasoned Demon Slayer Sakonji Urokodaki only to meet his most challenging task a year later: splitting the world's strongest boulder in two using nothing but his sword.

The Demon Slayer Corps... An organization that's been hunting down demons since ancient times. Sakonji Urokodaki starts training Tanjiro for Final Selection, the test for joining the unit.

It's Tanjiro's first and Final Selection, and he's being stalked by a morphed demon whose scent reeks of its previous victims. This isn't the kind of class reunion Tanjiro was expecting.

To pass Final Selection, one must survive for seven days on Mt. Fujikasane where demons captured by the Demon Slayers have been imprisoned. So begins the battle for survival between the young swordsmen and the demons.

The Final Selection leaves only four swordsmen standing, who move on to the next stage to becoming Demon Slayers by crafting their own Nichirin Swords.

Only four swordsmen survive the seven-day battle. The guides who greet them explain the Demon Slayer Corps system. All four are issued uniforms and Kasugai Crows as messengers, after which they must select the ore for their own Nichirin Swords.

Now clad in the official Demon Slayer uniform and with his very own Nichirin Sword, Tanjiro heads into town on his first assignment with Nezuko in tow to locate the town's missing girls.

Tanjiro is now clad in the uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps. His Nichirin Sword on his hip, and Nezuko, now awake, in a special box made by Urokodaki on his back, he heads out for his first assignment. A town where girls have been vanishing nightly.

And then there were three. Tanjiro, backed into a corner, is saved by Nezuko and follows the demons to their swamp.

Now split into three, the demons have driven Tanjiro into a corner. It is then that Nezuko attacks. Now that she’s become a demon herself, she’s no longer so weak that she needs protection. Tanjiro follows one of the demons into the swamp.

Small-town Tanjiro is thrown into the bustling city life as his next assignment takes him to Asakusa, Tokyo where he picks up a scent.

The next mission is in Asakusa, Tokyo. Tanjiro picks up the demon’s scent there. His pursuit of the scent leads him to Muzan Kibutsuji. Tanjiro attempts to strike him down, but Kibutsuji transforms a passerby into a demon, triggering a commotion.

The two demons named Tamayo and Yushiro, who came to Tanjiro's rescue, reveal a possible cure to turn Nezuko back into a human.

It was two demons named Tamayo and Yushiro who came to Tanjiro’s rescue. Tamayo guides Tanjiro and Nezuko to her house. Tanjiro learns that there is a way to return demons to human form. Just then, two demons find the house and unleash a furious assault.

Tanjirou's arsenal of techniques barely holds Yahaba's final Blood Demon Art at bay. Think German Expressionism, only demonic.

Tanjiro uses multiple forms of the Water Breathing technique to hold out against Yahaba’s final Blood Demon Art. Meanwhile, Nezuko and Susamaru are still battling it out. Worried about the outcome, Tamayo unleashes her own Blood Demon Art.

Tanjiro meets a fellow Final Selection survivor, Zenitsu Agatsuma, on his way to his next assignment. Tanjiro hears the mysterious sound of a tsuzumi.

Tanjiro's next destination is to the south-southeast. On the way, Tanjiro runs into his fellow Final Selection survivor, the swordsman Zenitsu Agatsuma. Tanjiro has a hard time dealing with Zenitsu's passive attitude as they head deep into the mountains.

The owner of the tsuzumi literally rocks the house as entire rooms rotate at the whim of his instrument, separating Tanjiro from Zenitsu in a house of horrors - one of which is a man with a boar for a head.

Inside the house, Tanjiro gets separated from Zenitsu. Without Tanjiro by his side, Zenitsu is overcome by fear and despair. Meanwhile, Tanjiro meets the master of the house, the tsuzumi-playing demon, and an odd-looking man wearing a boar’s head mask.

Every time Kyogai plays his tsuzumi, the room spins. Debilitated by the fractured bones he sustained in his previous battle, Tanjiro tries to fire himself up as he desperately fights on, but he is overwhelmed by Kyogai's Blood Demon Art.

Kyogai defeated at last, Tanjiro finds Zenitsu battered and worn and holding an unconscious Nezuko before the dual Nichirin Swords of the man in the boar mask.

Tanjiro prevails over Kyogai. He exits the house to find Zenitsu. But he sees the strange circumstances before him... The battered Zenitsu holding the box while the man in the boar's head mask stands in the way with two Nichirin Swords drawn.

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke travel north-northwest to spider-infested Mt. Natagumo where they find fellow Demon Slayers in a bit of a bind.

Tanjiro and Nezuko head towards Mount Natagumo with Zenitsu and Inosuke. This mountain is covered with spider webs and is swarming with innumerable spiders. They head up the mountain where they run into fellow Demon Slayers entangled in spider webs.

Inosuke and Tanjiro run into more hostile human-marionettes and struggle to find a way to save them without harming them, but it looks like Tanjiro has an ace up his sleeve.

Tanjiro and Inosuke battle the Demon Slayers trapped by spider webs. After slashing the threads, they head deeper into the mountain. Stopping the Demon Slayers without hurting them isn't going to be easy, but then Tanjiro makes a certain move...

Tanjiro discovers a possible cure for Nezuko while Zenitsu faces his fears, only to find a face he fears.

When Tanjiro slays the Mother Spider Demon of Mt. Natagumo, he learns that a demon who might hold the key to turning Nezuko back into a human is somewhere in this very forest. With the battered Inosuke in tow, he heads deeper into the forest.

Tanjiro is blown away by the Father Spider Demon's overwhelming power and meets a dysfunctional familial dilemma that launches him in a battle against the sadistic demon Rui.

Tanjiro and Inosuke face off against the Father Spider Demon of Mt. Natagumo. Tanjiro attacks, only to get hurled away by the demon's overwhelming power. Landing near a river, he comes upon the young demon Rui torturing the Sister Spider Demon.

The Demon Slayer Hashira storms Mt. Natagumo, rescuing the trio and inspiring Inosuke to challenge the superior swordsman before him in a boar-headed test of strength.

Swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps known as Hashiras have arrived on Mt. Natagumo. Giyu Tomioka slays the Father Spider Demon with a single strike. Inosuke, thrilled to see such a display of swordsmanship, challenges Giyu to a duel.

The distant memory of his father inspires Tanjiro with a new move to aid him in his fight against Rui.

When Rui assaults him with his Blood Demon Art, Tanjiro braces himself for certain death. As his life flashes before his eyes, he suddenly remembers his father's dance, the kagura, and unleashes a new attack. Hinokami Kagura Dance.

Rui is visited by memories of his life before becoming a demon.

Seeing Tanjiro try to protect Nezuko even as he collapses triggers memories of Rui’s own past. Once a sickly boy, he became a demon after meeting Kibutsuji who gave him a share of his blood. But after he turns into a demon, his parents try to kill him.

The Hashira take Tanjiro and Nezuko to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters where Tanjiro is tried for protecting a demon.

After the battle is over, Tanjiro and Nezuko are taken to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. This is where the Hashira Meeting between the Corps leader, Ubuyashiki, and the Hashiras, the most powerful swordsmen in the Corps, is to be held.

The Hashira discuss Tanjiro's candidacy as a Demon Slayer and question Nezuko's humanity.

Ubuyashiki finally appears before Tanjiro. He tells him that he will allow Tanjiro and Nezuko to join the Corps. But the Hashiras are unable to accept this decision right away. Sanemi Shinazugawa slashes his own arm and taunts Nezuko with his blood.

The injured Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke retreat to Shinobu Kocho's mansion and begin their strenuous rehabilitation training regime.

The injured Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are sent to the home of Shinobu Kocho for treatment. Two weeks later, Tanjiro and Inosuke start the brutal rehabilitation training. Zenitsu joins them late and is visibly enthusiastic in front of girls.

Tanjiro endures rigorous training and struggles to reclaim control of his Total Concentration Breathing. Wax on, wax off.

Tanjiro works hard to keep up his Total Concentration Breathing techniques all day long. He slowly but surely begins to make some headway. Seeing Tanjiro devote himself to training every single day, Zenitsu and Inosuke resume training as well, but...

New threats begin to make their move as Tanjiro matches his training opponent in strength at long last and soon receives his first assignment in months.

As Tanjiro and the others are devoted to their rehabilitation training, Muzan Kibutsuji gathers the Lower Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki. The demons, too, are preparing to make their next move. Tanjiro receives word of a new mission from his Kasugai Crow.
